ABOUT US

Our sense of self and of who we are in the world, is intimately associated with a deep historical sense of landscape and of our links with the animals - some ancient memory of where we have come from. It is therefore a sense of home, and to be without it is to suffer one of the most overlooked psychiatric conditions of our time - homesickness. Dr MacCullum

MARRYING WILDERNESS TO MODERN CULTURE

OUR STORY

Wildology is the brainchild of Melanie Oliver, London, Harley Street psychotherapist, speaker, educator, and conservationist. During the stillness of Covid era, her vision for Wildology was born out of a deep recognition of humanity’s disconnection from land, wilderness, and authentic belonging. Conceived as both sanctuary and catalyst, it was designed to merge world-class therapeutic care with the healing intelligence of nature. At its heart lies the belief that profound recovery emerges when individuals are guided back into relationship with the wild, where stillness, renewal, and transformation naturally unfold.

WIDER VISION

From a deep place of belonging and conscious awareness of our connection to the land and wilderness, Wildology invites a shift from consumer to custodian of the natural world.

OUR IMPACT ETHOS

In wilderness lies the preservation of mankind.

OUR VALUES

Community -

UBANTU  (Community in Zulu)
Ubuntu expresses the African sense of community. Instead of, “I think, therefore, I exist” (cogito ergo sum) of the French Philosopher Rene Descartes, the African asserts “I am because we are” (cognatus ergo sum); the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity.

Respect -

HLONIPA   (Respect in Zulu)

Hlonipa expresses the African sense of respect which is interconnected, including the community, the land, the environment, and natural world:

RESPECT for one other.

RESPECT for wildlife.

RESPECT for wilderness.

Mutual Recognition

We believe in the importance of acknowledging, respecting, and valuing the perspectives, identities, and rights of all individuals and groups.

Courage

We believe embracing courage leads to personal growth and self-discovery, involves confronting fears and adversities rather than avoiding them. It is about recognising that growth often requires stepping out of one's comfort zone.

Growth

We are dedicated to ongoing learning and seek out opportunities for education, self-improvement, and skill development.

Conservation

We are committed to the protection and safeguarding of natural habitats, and restoration of degraded ecosystems for future generations.

Transparency

We practice transparency through open communication - at all levels - and accountability amongst peers and accrediting organisations.

Collaboration

As a collaborative team - in partnership with clients - we commit to the possibility of facilitating greater treatment outcomes.
